Editorial Policy

The standards that govern our reporting, our sourcing, our independence and our corrections process.

Last updated: March 1, 2026

1. Independence

GTRYP is independently owned and operated by GTRYP LLC. We do not accept payment from destinations, tourism boards, hotels, tour operators, airlines or any other travel business in exchange for editorial coverage. When we accept advertising, it is clearly labeled, kept in fixed banner spaces separate from articles, and never influences editorial decisions.

2. Sourcing

Every article is based on original reporting by an editor or a contributor who has visited the place personally or has worked closely with a local resident who knows it well. Historical claims are checked against published, verifiable sources; unverifiable local stories are described as such.

3. Photography

Photography for GTRYP articles is original, produced by our own editors and photographers or licensed from named contributors with proper credit. We do not use stock imagery or AI-generated imagery to represent real places.

4. Practical information

Practical information such as opening hours, transport schedules and prices is checked in the week before publication and reviewed at least every twelve months thereafter. The date of the most recent verification is noted at the foot of every article.

5. Corrections

When we discover an error, or when a reader brings one to our attention, we correct the article as soon as possible and add a dated note at the bottom describing what was changed. Substantive corrections that affect the meaning of an article are also flagged in the following month's newsletter.

6. Sensitive places

Some of the places we visit are fragile: small residential neighborhoods, working farms, remote nature areas. For a small number of the most sensitive sites, we deliberately withhold exact addresses or GPS coordinates and describe them only in general terms. We ask readers to travel in small groups, outside peak periods, and to spend money at family-run businesses.

7. Complaints

Editorial complaints should be sent to editors@gtryp.com with the URL of the article and a brief description of the concern. We aim to respond within five working days.
